Surprises Aren't For Clients
If you've known Society 54 for any length of time, you probably know that we love fun, games and challenges. And your clients likely do as well! But what they typically don't appreciate are surprises. We're not talking about a thoughtful handwritten note, an unexpected gift in the mail, or a call to check in. Those are great (and appreciated) surprises. But surprise bills, increased rates without communication, putting someone else on a project without giving the client notice, and other similar surprises? Not so fun.
Prevent negative surprises by having impeccable communication skills. Over-communicate, even if you feel like it may be a bother. It's better to have a client ask that you communicate with them less than to have an angry client with a large bill to discuss or another "bone to pick."
One final word of advice - never try to play it off with an "April Fools!" That doesn't usually go over well...
